I was in independent command of an Advanced dressing station (ADS) and gained experience as a doctor and administrator. I was responsible for planning & provision of medical cover to a brigade in active counter insurgency operations in Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. I did the basic mountaineering course from the Institute of mountain climbing in Darjeeling and treated my fellow participants with high altitude sickness. I have participated in exercises in the remote forward areas of the country and abroad. I have conducted exercises in staging and evacuation of casualties from the battlefield.
